About Hertfordshire’s Children and Young People’s Mental Health Services (CYPMHS) and THRIVE

The Hertfordshire CYPMHS System

Hertfordshire's Children and Young People’s Mental Health Services (CYPMHS) make up a whole system of support services that all sit under one ‘umbrella’ to support the range of emotional wellbeing and mental health needs of children and young people.

The system encompasses mental health and emotional wellbeing support services and interventions from many providers. This includes GP/Primary Care Network (PCN)-based services, school-based services, NHS, Hertfordshire County Council, private and voluntary sector organisations – everyone has an important role to play.

The THRIVE Framework for System Change

Example Alt

The THRIVE Framework for system change (Wolpert et al., 2019) is an integrated, person centred and needs led approach to delivering mental health services for children, young people and their families that was developed by a collaboration of authors from the Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families and the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust.

In Hertfordshire, we are working to implement the THRIVE Framework for System Change, so look out for more updates on this soon!
